Palestinian police freed journalist Daoud Kuttab, who is a U.S. citizen, after holding him without charges for a week. Kuttab said from his home in traditionally Arab East Jerusalem that police would not tell him why he was being held, but he assumed that it had to do with his live broadcasts of Palestinian Legislative Council sessions. The U.S. condemned the detention. Human rights groups described it as part of a “pattern of harassment.”
