Longtime Reporter Will Be Honored

In recognition of his contributions to journalism, Bill Billiter, a longtime reporter and editor for The Los Angeles Times, will be honored posthumously at UCI Extension’s annual Certificate Awards Ceremony on Tuesday.
Billiter was a member of the UCI Extension faculty for more than 15 years, teaching journalism courses. The award, the highest honor given by the school, will be accompanied by the establishment of a scholarship in his name.
Billiter died April 19 of a heart attack while returning home after running in the annual UCI Zot Trot 5K. He was 62.
The awards ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. at UCI’s Social Sciences Auditorium.
