Tourney Serves Up Beach Volleyball

California’s signature sport--beach volleyball--will return to San Buenaventura State Beach today with the “Doug Messner Saturday at the Pier” tournament.
The tournament is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on the beach next to Ventura Pier on Harbor Boulevard and will include men’s, women’s, boys’, girls’ and coed competition.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category.
All players must be members of the California Beach Volleyball Assn.
Entry fees are $30 for adult teams, $15 for youth teams and $60 for six-member teams.
