Political Football Is a Brutal Sport

I’ve been a San Francisco 49er fan for 50 years, and the thought of the Los Angeles 49ers was really scary. Then I saw T.J. Simers predicted the 49ers would head south and I knew the San Francisco vote would turn out favorably. T.J., your political savvy seems to equal your football predictions.

As a proud resident of Southern California, I am tired of NFL teams using Los Angeles as a pawn. Whenever a team wants a new stadium or practice field or uniforms, they threaten their hometown with a move to L.A.
I think it is about time the leaders of Los Angeles tell the NFL that we do not want a hand-me-down. We want an expansion team, if we want one at all. If the Coliseum is not good enough, they can build a new stadium 50 miles west of Catalina. At least the fans will get an ocean view.
