*** Sounds of Blackness, “Time for Healing,” A&M;.
In their desire for airplay, spiritually oriented artists often play it safe with the faith and avoid the G-word. No such trepidation from Sounds of Blackness. “God Cares” is a delight and Salt-N-Pepa contribute to “Hold On” with typical flair and assertiveness. This album is varied and appealing enough to move even the unconverted.
Albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
