Valley Woman Killed in Boat Crash
PAGE, Ariz. (AP) — A San Fernando Valley woman was killed and her husband injured when their boat crashed into a rock wall on Dry Rock Creek in Lake Powell on Friday.
Nancy Blender, of the Northridge or Chatsworth area, was killed by the impact, the National Park Service said.
Her husband, in his mid-40s, was hospitalized initially in Page but was later flown to Flagstaff.
The helicopter service had an aircraft over the lake when the accident occurred and found the crash site within 10 minutes of the initial call for help, the park service said.
The cause of the crash was under investigation, officials said.
