FDA Issues Warning on Anti-Pain Device
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
The Food and Drug Administration issued a warning about a device called the Stimulator that supposedly relieves pain. It said the device was not approved and sent warnings to six companies that made it. “The Stimulator is essentially an electric gas barbecue grill igniter outfitted with finger grips,” it said in a statement. “When pressed against the skin, the Stimulator sparks and causes a small electric shock.”
