Sun to Rise and Shine This Week

For Valley residents who hate rain, drier and happier days will be here again this week as mostly sunny skies and warmer temperatures are expected, forecasters said.
This morning’s isolated showers will move eastward over the desert areas after soaking the Valley and most of California during the Thanksgiving weekend, said John Sherwin, a meteorologist at WeatherData Inc., which provides forecast information to The Times.
“There’s a high-pressure system over the Pacific in which you get sinking air, and that means you generally have fair weather with sunny skies,” Sherwin said. “The weather looks a lot different than this past week. It should be pretty nice for the whole week.”
Today’s high temperatures are expected to be 63 in Woodland Hills, 64 in Van Nuys and 65 in Burbank and Chatsworth, with low temperatures in the low to mid-40s.
Scattered clouds and sunny skies are forecast for Tuesday with slightly warmer temperatures throughout the Valley. Highs are expected in the upper 60s and lows in the low to mid-40s, forecasters said.
The warming trend will hit a peak Wednesday and Thursday, with highs reaching the low 70s in some areas and lows in the mid- to upper 40s.
Partly cloudy skies and high temperatures in the mid- to upper 60s are expected Friday.
