Rosary Upsets Los Alamitos in Water Polo

Los Alamitos, one of the county’s top-ranked teams, was upset, 4-0, by Rosary in a nonleague girls’ water polo game Tuesday at Servite High.
Julia Wald scored what was the eventual winning goal in the first quarter for the Royals. Kelly McNeley and Natalie Golda also scored for Rosary (1-0).
Jackie Frank made 12 saves in three quarters for Los Alamitos (0-1), which was undefeated last season.
In another nonleague game:
Marina 4, Capistrano Valley 3 (OT)--Jenny Lamb scored her second goal and the game-winner with 16 seconds remaining in overtime for Marina (1-0). Rebecca Miller also scored twice and had four steals for the Vikings. Freshman Amber Stachowski scored a goal with one second remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime for Capistrano Valley (0-1).
In nonleague boys’ soccer:
Loara 2, Beverly Hills 2--Loara’s Tony Cuellar scored both of the Saxons’ goals in the season-opening tie against Beverly Hills.
