Spotlight: Strouds Taps Former Kmart Exec for CEO Post
Strouds Inc. named former Kmart Corp. executive Charles Chinni as its chief executive. Chinni, previously Kmart’s executive vice president of merchandising, will also join Strouds’ board. He left Kmart in October 1995 after only eight months. He also worked at Federated Department Stores Inc.’s Macy’s unit for 30 years. Industry-based Strouds is a specialty retailer of bed, bath, tabletop and other home textiles products. It operates 65 stores in five states.
