Baby Is Sought After Mother Tells Police 4 Men Took Him

SANTA ANA — Police are searching for a 3-month-old boy whose mother reported him missing Tuesday afternoon.
Lt. Dave Petko said the mother, whose name was not released, reported that four men in a sedan approached her and her son, Jesus Valenzo, as they stood in the 1000 block of South Ross Street. The men took the infant and told her not to call police, Petko said.
Although police have sent county and statewide bulletins reporting the child missing, investigators say some details of the mother’s story, such as the ethnicity of the kidnappers and the car’s description, have been inconsistent.
“We just don’t know,” Petko said. “We are saying kidnapping, but we are considering this a missing child under suspicious circumstances. All we know is that we have a 3-month-old we can’t account for.”
