A group of five young men went on a crime spree in Oxnard on Monday night, robbing or attempting to rob three people at three locations.
The men used a sawed-off shotgun to rob a flower vendor of flowers and money at 6:30 p.m. at Rose Avenue and Wooley Road, a police spokesman said.
The men--all riding in a newer blue or gray four-door Ford Taurus--then drove to the intersection of N and Hill streets where they tried to take a man’s mountain bike, the spokesman said.
The man escaped on his bike but the group robbed a man coming out of the A & Z Liquor Store at 2810 S. Ventura Road at 7:45 p.m. The victim handed over his wallet, which did not have any cash.
No one was injured and the suspects remain at large, police said.
