NEW YORK — Boxing promoter Don King said Thursday he would stand by former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, whose license was revoked for at least a year after his biting episode with champion Evander Holyfield.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission revoked Tyson’s boxing license earlier in the week as punishment for his behavior during his title fight June 28.
“The Nevada State Athletic Commission did what they felt they had to do, and I am not going to second guess the decision,” King said in a statement.
“He’s my friend and I stand with him.”
