Grand Ave. Meeting

* The more the merrier, I say, but I sure was surprised by “Plans Taking Shape to Help Grand Ave. Match Its Name” (Oct. 26). It said that the Community Redevelopment Agency had “sponsored” a recent meeting to brainstorm ideas for Grand Avenue downtown.
My company, Maguire Partners, which is the single largest property owner downtown, cosponsored that highly productive meeting, by ponying up $22,000, which paid for the plan, materials, participant costs and hospitality services.
I don’t want all the credit, but, hey, what about a little sharing. Might be good policy for the city of L.A. in general, to keep that good old spirit of volunteerism going.
