An interactive exhibit on cats, big and small, opens Saturday and runs through Jan. 4, 1998, at the San Diego Natural History Museum in the city’s Balboa Park. “Cats! Wild to Mild” focuses on biology and behavior of 36 domestic and 35 wild breeds, including the snow leopard, lion and jaguar. Two Romanians were recently sentenced to a year in jail in Paris for targeting tourists with a newly popular robbery ruse. The two would dress up in B-movie police raincoats and stop guests outside luxury hotels to conduct sham identity checks, grabbing wallets when identity documents were produced, a Paris court was told.
