Students to Hear Talk by NASA Engineer
A speaker from NASA will talk to Conejo Elementary School students today about stars, galaxies and rockets.
Conejo teacher Lori Peters said that the school, after two years on a waiting list was able to secure a visit from Donald Scott, a NASA aeronautical engineer based at the Ames Research Center at Moffett Field.
Volunteering his time and expertise, Scott will demonstrate spacesuits and discuss the past, present and future of the United States’ exploration of space.
“The kids have been preparing for this visit for a long time,” Peters said. “They’ve made lunar eclipse boxes, built rockets and watched space shuttle videos. . . .”
After Scott speaks to all the grades, he will give special workshops to teachers and upper-level students.
