BOYS’ SOCCER

Fountain Valley, which came within a goal of winning the Southern Section Division I championship last year, opens its soccer season at 3:30 p.m. Monday with a home game against Pacifica. The Barons return seven starters and nine lettermen from a team that lost to Simi Valley Royal, 1-0, in the championship game.
