Temple City 38, Hoover 7--Hoover committed six turnovers and Temple City (1-3) scored 38 unanswered points to rout the Tornadoes (1-3) at Monrovia High.
Hoover suffered from two interceptions and four fumbles. Both interceptions were returned for touchdowns.
Hoover quarterback Welser Maltez completed eight of 14 passes for 139 yards and one touchdown and had one pass intercepted. Maltez hooked up with Jeff Lee on a 62-yard scoring pass play with 5:10 remaining to stave off a shutout.
