Three Santa Paula men are in Ventura County Jail awaiting arraignment on charges that they sold cocaine to undercover officers.

The men were arrested Wednesday after a three-month investigation by the Ventura-Oxnard Narcotics Enforcement Team, the California Department of Justice and officers from the Ventura Police Department narcotics squad, said Oxnard Police Det. John Gomez, who works with the narcotics team.

Undercover officers purchased one kilogram of cocaine from two of the men--Rudolph Gonzales, 60, and Rene Perez, 47--worth an estimated $100,000 on the street, Gomez said.

After the arrest, officers obtained a search warrant to look through Gonzales’ home on the 300 block of North Ojai Road in Santa Paula. There officers arrested Jose Lopez Torres, 53, on suspicion of possession of cocaine for sale, Gomez said.
