Faulty Fan Blamed for Fire at House
A short-circuiting fan started a fire in an Anaheim home Thursday, but a sprinkler system doused the blaze before it caused much damage, officials said.
A woman inside the home on the 900 block of North Emily Street said she heard an explosion about 8:30 a.m., Anaheim Fire Department spokeswoman Tabby Cato said.
A chair was set ablaze by the faulty fan, but the heat triggered the home sprinkler system, and the fire was out by the time firefighters arrived, Cato said.
Damage was limited to about $1,000, she said.
