JetHawks Rally to Capture Series
STOCKTON — The Lancaster JetHawks beat the Stockton Ports, 3-1, Thursday night in 11 innings at Billy Hebert Field to win the California League’s Valley Division playoff series, two games to one.
Tarrik Brock’s run-scoring single to right in the top of the 11th drove home Greg Connors to break a 1-1 tie, and James Clifford also scored on the play on an error in the outfield.
The JetHawks, who beat Modesto in a one-game playoff Monday to reach the first round, advance to the best-of-five Valley Division championship series against High Desert tonight in Adelanto.
Games 3 and 4, if necessary, will be played at the Hangar on Sunday and Monday.
High Desert, the division’s second-half winner, was the only team to sweep a series from Lancaster after the all-star break.
Stockton led, 1-0, behind starter Brian Passini heading into the ninth but Jim Horner hit a solo home run to tie the score.
