Panel Seeks Law-Related Recipient for Federal Aid
A new advisory panel will meet Thursday to discuss ways to spend more than $143,000 in federal grant funds earmarked for law enforcement.
The use-it-or-lose-it money was intended to buy computers for the city deputies’ patrol cars, but that program won’t be running in time, Sheriff’s Capt. Bob Eason said.
City Council members this week formed the advisory panel to discuss other uses, such as a drug counseling program, for the money. The City Council has final say on how the money is spent.
The panel’s public meeting begins at 11:45 a.m. in the main conference room at Stanton City Hall, 7800 Katella Ave.
