Thousands of children are expected to converge on Griffith Park today and Sunday for the 10th annual Big Bunny Spring Fling at the Los Angeles Zoo, where they will get to pet rabbits, make bunny ears and go on a scavenger hunt.

In addition to the special Easter-related activities, the children will be able to visit the zoo’s 1,200 animals, including baby black bears, baby giraffes, a baby Gelada baboon and a baby spider monkey.

“This is probably our most successful and popular event because it is simply so much fun for the children,” said zoo spokeswoman Lora LaMarca.

Maxwell House Coffee is sponsoring the event, and anyone bringing an empty can or jar of the coffee will be admitted free. Otherwise, admission is $8.25 for adults and $3.25 for children under 12. The scavenger hunts will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
