And About Those Other Dodger Changes . . .

Opening day at Dodger Stadium was perfection, except for a couple of gross imperfections.

First, cancel the traffic control detail. They were responsible for the exiting nightmare. The normal lights work just fine during sellouts, and so they aren’t needed.

Second, lose that awful, annoyingly cliched rock music. The only comments heard about the taped music were complaints. Granted, current stadium organist Nancy B. Heffley is no Helen Dell (the old organist), but she’s 1,000 times better than those terrible tapes blaring out over that rotten, outdated sound system. And by the way, I am a major rock music nut.

Other than that, it was a truly wonderful day.

Kudos to the Dodgers for their new mural that graces the outfield fence. It is a tribute to the team’s storied history and top performers. Let’s hope that it’s not eventually replaced by pictures of the cast of “Melrose Place.”

You can now add one more to the list of bad Dodger trades: trading radio station KABC for AM 1150.

I live in Santa Monica and I get more crackle, crackle than Vin Scully.
