Album Review
* 1/2 Dakota Moon, “Dakota Moon,” Elektra. Acoustic rock and soul is how this L.A.-based quartet has described its sound, which in this case apparently means pleasant vocal harmonies that recall Boy George and Kenny Loggins--although the trite, middle-of-the-road compositions here make those two seem like musical titans. “Won’t Be Alone Tonight” almost approaches catchy pop, but even James Taylor’s “Your Smiling Face” becomes schlock on this debut effort.
