Woman, 80, Killed, 2 Hurt in Car Crash
GORMAN — An 80-year-old Sonoma woman was killed and two other women were injured Saturday afternoon when their car crashed into a freeway guardrail, the California Highway Patrol said.
The accident occurred at 2:10 p.m. on the southbound Golden State Freeway south of Quail Lake, CHP spokeswoman Karen Faciane said. The victim, whose name was withheld pending notification of her family, was wearing a seat belt, the CHP said.
The car’s 70-year-old driver and a 69-year-old front-seat passenger, both from San Francisco, were taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, where they were treated and released, Faciane said. Investigators had not determined how fast the car was traveling or the cause of the accident.
