Nibbles and Bits

Zydeco star Terrance Simien and Cajun music aces Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys will headline the annual Cajun & Zydeco Festival on May 30-31 at Rainbow Lagoon in Long Beach.

Simien, Riley and two other acts--Rosie Ledet & the Zydeco Playboys and Walter Mouton & the Scott Playboys--appear both days. Andre Thierry & Zydeco Magic join the bill on Saturday only, and the Zydeco Bone Shakers and Acadiana appear on Sunday only.

Mouton and his band will play a pre-festival dance concert May 29 at the Golden Sails Hotel in Long Beach. The festival runs noon to 7 p.m. each day. $15-$22. (562) 427-3713.
