U.S. Women’s Soccer Starts Exhibition Series
The U.S. women’s national soccer team will play Argentina tonight at Cal State Fullerton at 7:30 in the first of a series of exhibitions that organizers hope will spur interest in the 1999 Women’s World Cup, hosted by the United States.
The series continues Sunday against Argentina in San Jose. The U.S. plays Iceland on May 8 in Indianapolis and May 10 in Bethlehem, Pa., before traveling to Japan for exhibitions against the Japanese national team--May 17, 21 and 24.
The U.S. team returns for games against New Zealand on May 30 in Washington and June 2 in Oneonta, N.Y. and against Germany on June 25 in St. Louis and June 28 in Chicago.
