Javelin Reports Profit on Record Sales

Javelin Systems Inc., an Irvine-based designer of touch screen computers, posted a profit for the third fiscal quarter on record sales.

Net income for the three months ended March 31 totaled $353,366, or 9 cents a share, contrasted with a net loss of $57,426, or 2 cents a share, for the like period last year. Revenue climbed to $10.6 million from $1.7 million. Net income for the first three quarters of the fiscal year was $467,116, or 13 cents a share. For the corresponding period a year ago, the company lost $849,643, or 33 cents a share, which included a noncash interest expense of $636,000. Revenue grew to $18 million from $4.3 million.
