Food, Wine Festival on Weekend Menu
Armadillo eggs, Jamaican jerk chicken and chocolate-dipped strawberries are a few of the treats to be offered at the sixth annual Captain Morgan Taste of Ventura County food and wine festival Friday to Suday at Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard.
The event takes place Friday from 5 p.m. to midnight, Saturday noon to midnight and Sunday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Admission is free Friday until 7 p.m., Saturday until 4 p.m. for people 55 and older, and Sunday after 5 p.m. Otherwise, the fee is $6 general admission, $4 seniors and free for those 14 and under. Food and beverage prices range from $1 to $5. Parking is free.
Appetizer-size portions from local restaurants will allow festival-goers to taste food from around the world. A selection of wine, champagne and microbrews will be poured by the glass or offered in taste-size portions.
Musical entertainment will include jazz, blues, classic rock, swing, salsa and big band. A large dance floor and festival-style seating will be available.
