Community to Celebrate Children’s Day Today
Parents and local community organizations are hosting a celebration for Eastside children today in honor of Dia del Nino, a traditional Mexican holiday dedicated to children.
More than 300 children are expected to attend the free event at Dolores Mission School, where they will be greeted with food, games, clowns and prizes.
“It’s a day to celebrate kids, so they know they’re important,” said Carmen Trelles, director of IMPACTO, a community outreach group.
The celebration will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. at the playground of Dolores Mission School, 171 Gless St.
