15-Year-Old Boy Is Injured in Oxnard Drive-By Shooting
A 15-year-old Oxnard boy was shot in the leg and wrist Monday evening after he was chased down a south Oxnard street by a gunman in a car, police said.
The boy, whom police did not identify because of his age, received treatment at Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura.
The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, said Cmdr. Jeff Young of the Oxnard Police Department.
The drive-by shooting occurred about 7 p.m. outside a residence at 3579 B St., Young said.
He said the youth was chased by a teenager with a goatee who drove a brown Chevrolet Monte Carlo with two women in the rear seat.
“They were chasing him in the car,” Young said. “He was running and they shot him.”
The boy was attempting to reach the safety of a friend’s house, Young said.
