Weil Quits as Coach of Hart Softball Team
Al Weil has resigned as softball coach at Hart High, boys’ Athletic Director Mike Herrington said.
Herrington could not provide details of Weil’s resignation.
Weil, a walk-on coach who guided one of the region’s most successful programs for 13 seasons, could not be reached for comment.
“I know [Weil] had some problems with some ex-players’ parents [during the season] and the parents went all the way up to the school board [with their complaints],” said Herrington, also the Hart football coach.
Hart, which won at least 20 games in each of the last four seasons, was 20-7 and Foothill League champion last season.
