2 Teens Arrested in Fatal Attack on Cat
Police arrested two Oxnard juveniles on suspicion of animal cruelty, officials said Tuesday.
Neighbors in the 100 block of South E Street reported seeing two boys kicking a cat shortly before 8 p.m. Monday, said Officer Jessica Hines of the Oxnard Police Department.
Witnesses told police that the cat was bleeding severely after the incident.
A neighbor took the cat to a veterinarian’s office, where it was later euthanized because of its severe injuries, Hines said.
The two teens were arrested and later released into the custody of their parents.
Police had no information on the cat’s owner.
