Learning Center Director Named

Mary McMullin has been appointed Rancho Santiago Community College District’s academic director of instruction and student services for the Orange Adult Learning Center.

She brings more than 20 years’ experience as a school administrator, director of staff development, curriculum developer and ESL resource specialist.

For the past three years, McMullin worked as an assistant principal of the Long Beach School for Adults, where she managed the daily operations that served nearly 9,000 students in three primary and four satellite locations.

McMullin, from Villa Park, began her teaching career in 1979 as an ESL instructor for the ABC Unified School District in Cerritos. After six years, she became the director of the ESL Teacher Institute for the Adult Education Division of the California Department of Education, providing training to about 8,000 administrators, coordinators and instructors, and managing a budget of $1.2 million.
