Night of the Austin Powers Wannabes

Lava Lounge diva Michelle Marini had a pre-birthday bash at her sweet l’il Hollywood cocktail haven on Saturday night, and guests were encouraged to show up in their finest Austin Powers garb, and lemme tell ya, we’ve got two words for ya, “Yeah, babee.” There were some fine-looking retro babes in the bar and numerous swinging men, one in particular really sunk his teeth into the character by showing up with dead-on replicas of Power’s gnarly chops. . . .

Speaking of Austin Powers, we ran into the lovely actress Heather Graham at a Hollywood barbecue; she is looking forward to starring in the sequel. . . .

We felt wretched about this but it was too darn hot to bust a move out to the 20th anniversary celebration of Jumbo’s Clown Room, but we hear it was loads of fun, and we also heard through the grapevine that former Small’s co-owner Jon Sidel is back in the bar-owning saddle with Dominick’s, which everyone is calling “the new Small’s” because it’s staffed with bartenders from the original H-wood bar. We plan to be first in line to belly up to that bar, located on Beverly Boulevard.
