Folk Tales and Shadow Puppets
World Tour: Music, dance, masks and puppetry highlight the California Youth Theatre’s “Global Tales--Folktales From the Heart of Many Lands” tonight at Duarte Performing Arts Center. The performance of tales from around the world is the culmination of CYT’s intensive theater arts program with the L.A. County Schools Migrant Education Program, Region X. It includes the Russian folk tale “The Firebird”; “The Bremen Town Musicians,” from Germany; two “Anansi Tales” from Africa; and from China, “Ma Lien and the Magic Paintbrush.”
