Haircut-a-Thon Will Benefit Gary Center

The Gary Center will turn the La Habra Community Center into a makeshift hair salon Sunday with its second annual Haircut-a-thon.
About 12 hairstylists from the city will provide residents $8 haircuts, with proceeds to benefit the nonprofit Gary Center, which provides counseling, a dental clinic, food distribution and other community services.
The Haircut-a-thon will include food booths and entertainment, with activities for children. Radio station KOST-FM (103.5) will provide music.
Organizers hope to triple last year’s sales and raise about $5,000, said Gary Center Director Martha Lester. The St. Jude Foundation will match the amount the center raises.
The event will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The La Habra Community Center is at La Habra Boulevard and Euclid Street.
