MetroLink

I recently had my first experience with MetroLink, taking it from Van Nuys to Union Station and then Long Beach and back. The trains are clean, fast and cheap. Especially cheap! I have never before taken a train or subway without a turnstile which validates one’s ticket. I couldn’t help wondering how many passengers were riding for free since it is so easy to do so. If MetroLink is having economic problems, this is probably one source--and something that can and should be corrected.
