With the demand for multimedia professionals rising, Cal Lutheran University has announced plans to expand its list of certificate programs.

This semester, which begins Tuesday, the university will add courses in information technologies, information systems and multimedia.

Most of the courses will be offered at CLU’s Thousand Oaks and Woodland Hills campuses.

University officials identified a need for employers to help personnel gain additional skills, especially as businesses become more high tech.

“We held some focus groups with employers to identify what they really needed to be more productive,” said Jo Lynn Feinstein, CLU’s director of continuing and professional education. “We’re trying to meet that need with these programs.”

The university also offers business certificate programs in business contracts, human resources management, marketing and sales.
