Moore Enviro-Chemical, a Camarillo-based chemical corporation, has received the green light from the South Coast Air Quality Management District to sell its cleaner / degreaser Ultra MEC SS1 as a “clean air” solvent.
Moore provides cleaning chemicals to the semiconductor, electronics and parts-cleaning industries worldwide. Its products and services are driven by regulatory requirements founded in the Clean Air Act and hazardous waste management laws.
“The high costs of compliance for these two far-reaching programs are pressuring businesses to consider many options,” said John Moore, company president and technical director. “Silicon Valley companies use our products to reduce their output of hazardous waste. Manufacturing a computer chip can create over 5,000 times the chip’s actual weight in waste.”
The auto industry also uses Moore Enviro-Chemical products to reduce smog-forming emissions from its solvents, Moore said.
Moore was recently reappointed to the Ventura County Air Pollution Control District Advisory Committee. In addition to his duties as a designer of nontoxic chemicals, he is a hazardous materials consultant who works with government officials to expedite environmental regulatory compliance issues.
