* Ten English paintings that hung at Santa Anita’s turf club in Arcadia since the 1950s have been sold at a New York auction for $12.6 million, according to Sotheby’s auction house. The Alfred J. Munnings paintings were sold Tuesday to severak private collectors and dealers from the U.S. and Europe. According to the Sotheby’s catalog, they were expected to fetch $10.1 million to $13.8 million. The track’s parent company, Massachusetts-based Meditrust, sold the paintings to cut costs, track officials said.
