LAGUNA NIGUEL
Councilwoman Linda Lindholm nominated Councilman Mark Goodman to succeed her as mayor on Tuesday. The council voted unanimously to appoint Goodman to mayor and Councilwoman Mimi Walters as mayor pro tem. It will be Goodman’s second stint as mayor. Goodman set aside outgoing Councilman Eddie Rose’s contention that the new council--which includes Joe Brown and Cathryn DeYoung--would do nothing more than rubber stamp decisions. Goodman said that for the first time the council has a common vision and he expects more unanimous votes in the future.
