These days, an Internet services company with the ticker symbol GEEK has at least two things going for it.
Internet America Inc. got off to a good start as a publicly traded company with that catchy ticker Thursday, rising $1.88, or 14%, in its first day of trading on Nasdaq.
The Dallas company sold 2.3 million shares at $13 in its initial public offering the day before.
