Kids Welcome at Leisure World

* Regarding Darie S. Reinhardt’s Dec. 6 letter and her experience in Leisure World regarding her grandchildren:
I’m sorry she had such disagreeable neighbors, but that certainly hasn’t been my experience. My grandchildren are now 16 and 13, but they have been coming to Leisure World since they were born. When they were little, they spent almost as much time with me as they did in their own home.
All my neighbors were thrilled that there were children visiting.

* We moved to Leisure World in June of 1997. One of the nice things here for us is the fact that our grandchildren are welcomed by our neighbors.
This is a very large community, and Darie Reinhardt must have lived among a small pocket of people who did not like children. Those kinds of people are to be found outside of retirement communities too.
The grandparents and great-grandparents here have not cut themselves off from their grandchildren. They are frequent and welcome guests.
