The South Laguna Civic Assn., a group that opposes some of the redevelopment plans for Treasure Island, delivered more than 1,600 signatures--10% of the city’s registered voters--to City Hall on Thursday, calling for a special election on the redevelopment plan for the former 30-acre trailer park, civic association member Robert Gentry said.
The council will decide after the first of the year whether to hold a special election or start over by discussing a new development plan.
