Ex-Museum Director Pleads No Contest

The former director of the now-defunct Fillmore Museum of Natural History pleaded no contest to charges of perjury Friday and is scheduled to be sentenced early next month.
Karl Anderson, was arrested in June amid allegations of forgery and perjury surrounding his attempt to secure permits for exotic animal species.
Anderson is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 11.
This is the second time that Anderson has run into trouble with local authorities for exotic animal permit irregularities.
In 1997, he pleaded no contest to five misdemeanor charges that he failed to obtain proper permits to house three protected animals at the museum.
Anderson also pleaded guilty three years ago to similar criminal charges in Oregon.
