After some debate, the City Council approved a special-event permit Thursday for Century Model Homes--its third this year--by a 3-2 vote. Councilwoman Dorothy Rush opposed the permit, contending that the applicant had abused the last one by littering Imperial Highway utility poles with unauthorized advertising. The new permit more clearly prohibits posting such fliers. Information: (562) 905-9700.
