Reed Improves Free-Throw Accuracy
The team-high 21 points off the bench Saturday against Cal State Northridge was only the latest example of the strides Travis Reed has made to become a key member of the front line.
But the most striking strides have come on his free-throw shooting.
Only 33.3% from the line last season, Reed is at 83.3% through the first eight games this season. Even if it’s only 10 makes on 12 tries, it’s obvious improvement.
“Last year, I was just so scared,” Reed said. “I was a freshman. But now, I expect to make it.
“I’ve been working on them all season. I knew I had to improve my percentage or I might have broken the UCLA record.”
Reed said he thinks he can have the same success at the end of the season.
“If I fall below that, OK,” he said. “But I want to keep my goals high.”
