GARDEN GROVE
The City Council recently approved a $3.5-million federally funded computer dispatch system for the Police Department to replace a 14-year-old system. The new system will include a computer for each of the eight dispatch positions. Mobile computer terminals will be installed in about 70 squad cars so officers can type in their reports from the field. The system will also include an upgrade in the mug shot system, allowing officers to access information and photos from their squad cars.
